Biography & Education

Dr. Alice Weston chose to become a family physician because of the extended relationships that flourish between primary care doctors and their patients. “I enjoy the opportunity to get to know my patients and help them live healthier lives,” she says. “I want my patients to be well-informed in deciding on a plan of care that is right for them.”

Dr. Weston’s philosophy of care encompasses the medical saying “to cure sometimes, to relieve often, to comfort always.” She believes this philosophy is particularly important in providing primary care over many years. In her practice, she emphasizes patient-centered decision-making, integrity, patient safety, and professionalism. She has a special interest in geriatric medicine.

She received her medical degree from New York Medical College and completed residency training with Providence.

In her free time, Dr. Weston enjoys gardening, travel, hiking, and spending time with family.

Patient Ratings and Comments
About Our Survey

The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the CAHPS Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5-point scale in order to display results in a 5-star rating. Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety with the exception of any language that may be considered slander, libel or contain private health information, which will be removed prior to publishing the comments. These comments are the views and opinions of patients and are not endorsed by or necessarily reflect the views of Providence.

Everything went very well much better than expected.

I mentioned three things on the medical history form that I wanted to talk about: thyroid (we talked about it), heart health (I described chest pain I've experienced and she dismissed it as possibly something to do with my sternum or acid reflux -- it's neither! And she did not inquire beyond that. Her lack of curiosity was surprising & frustrating to experience; I've not seen an MD in 10 years and expected a more thorough conversation!); joint health of my hands (I don't think we EVER touched on this subject). Also -- I had designated another doctor as my primary, and when I made the appointment, I took the next available appointment and was scheduled with Dr. Weston. I will not see her again. I will wait to see the doctor I researched and CHOSE as my primary. Dr. Weston did schedule a blood draw to test my thryoid and got back to me the next day with the results. She has not yet gotten back to me with my results of a subsequent Vit D screen. I do not believe she was holistic or curious in her approach. She offered options but no advice. I had a different expectation -- one in which my doctor would be curious about my health, give me guidance/advice, be more directive. [...] ALSO -- the receptionist had the sniffles and kept wiping her nose with her HAND and then used the keyboard and took my Providence ID card and credit card for payment. I asked if she had a cold (she said allergies), I asked her to use sanitizer, she put on & struggled with a mask. Within a week, I had a head cold. Hmmmmm....

Very attentive and concerned about my care.

This was an initial visit. Dr. Weston had reviewed the information I had completed online for [...]. Although [...] has dementia Dr. Weston included her in the conversation about her health. She listened to my concerns and addressed them and then called with follow up information. I am delighted that we found Dr. Weston to care for [...]. She is an excellent and compassionate clinician.

This was my first visit with Dr Weston. I look forward to having her as my Primary Care Provider!

This was my first visit with Dr. Weston. I thought she was great. I was in need of a new PVP. I would definitely recommend Dr. Weston.

Dr. Alice was great. my dad is 91 and we needed a new doctor better suited to his aging needsshe went above and beyond to work and share information with his care givers [...] look forward to seeing her in 6 months

I'm not sure our personalities align, but she is very nice & thorough.

This was the first time to see Dr. Weston, very impressed. We changed providers because the previous one was, in my opinion, unacceptable.

this was my first visit with this provider and she went over and beyond the amount of time allotted for my appointment

Dr. Weston was KIND and a VERY GOOD LISTENER. She answered all questions I had.
