Biography

As a medical provider, David Partch, PA-C, believes that education is power. "Teaching patients about their condition provides them with the tools to manage their health," says David. "The ability to listen to patients is the single most powerful tool a provider has."

David chose the medical field for the opportunity to make an impact on people's lives and to serve as a health advocate. "What I enjoy most about about being a physician assistant is seeing my patients benefit from taking an interest in their own health," he said.

After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Warner Pacific College in Portland, Ore., David completed his master's degree in physician assistant studies from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Ore. He is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

In his free time, David enjoys running, cycling, and spending time with his wife and son.

Patient Ratings and Comments
About Our Survey

The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the CAHPS Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5-point scale in order to display results in a 5-star rating. Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety with the exception of any language that may be considered slander, libel or contain private health information, which will be removed prior to publishing the comments. These comments are the views and opinions of patients and are not endorsed by or necessarily reflect the views of Providence.

David was great. I think I'm on the mend, but more importantly I know that he's dedicated to making sure I'm 100%.

This was my first visit with the Physician's Assistant in this practice. My doctor was not available and I was told by the hospital (where I had spent one night) that I needed to see someone in my doctor's office within three days. I was quickly given the appointment with the Physician's Assistant. He was thorough, kind and efficient. I would say it was an experience as expected, not terrific, but certainly not bad or disappointing in any way.

David is one of the amazing providers. He listens, he is attentive, respectful. The only provider I have every experienced who walks the patient to the exit door. I couldn't say enough good about him.

I had never seen Dr. Partch before as he is not my primary physician at this providence office, but I REALLY liked his manner, approach, thoroughness, courtesy and demeanor!

He is a super nice guy and has good knowledge but sometimes you need to step out of the text book. As I tried to explain to him about a certain condition I experience, he waved it off and said that we all experience that at times. That I agree with, but what he wanted to ignore is that as I experience them now as I am older and have the knee problems, those little snap, crackle pops of the younger days are now more noticeable, are more audible and cause discomfort that was not there as I have aged to this point. To say there is nothing that can be done about it would be one thing, but to wave it off by saying, "Ahh, we all experience that", well, no he doesn't.

i was grateful that the provider suggested I get an x-ray after I had a fall in the bathtub while traveling. He then told me he would let me know just as soon as the results werein, and he did! I was glad to have a baseline x-ray for future issues.

Regarding David, he didn't seem to understand why I was there. He belittled me and made me feel like I was wasting his time. He didn't believe what I said and it was quite insulting. He told me he didn't think I was in pain, when I told him I was. He seemed to think his medical opinion was more correct than the pain radiating through my entire left leg. I felt very disrespected. The only reason I saw him was because a nurse told me via mychart that I had to see someone that day. I would have preferred to wait until the next day instead of having to see David. I would never see him again or recommend him to anyone.

The provider listened and had good points, brought up several related issues and provided excellent care from an allopathic perspective.. Yet, even though the provider listened to what I had to say, my sense was that he did not hear some of what I was saying (like the hip pain and partial paralysis that made me seek medical care originating from my lower back rather than from bursitis) I also sensed that I had a more wholistic/alternative health care view and had the distinct sense that this provider could not meet me there. It was clear throughout the appointment that the conversation was about Bartsch - what he wanted to hear, how he wanted to lead the discussion - and not about me being heard.

I still am very sick with a "cold" "virus". Told to just wait it out and should get better, but has not. In fact, has gotten worse. Do not want to come back because I do not want to be patronized. Considering another option for provider. Ongoing issues with severe cough, sore throat, headache, face and teeth hurting.

While Providence has been hit or miss with me, I've been going to this particular location for two years now and have nothing but positive things to say. Dr. [...] is my PCP but I've also seen David Partch a couple of times now when Dr. [...] was unavailable, and both are exemplary. [...]

David was very empathetic. Probably a little more empathetic than I am used to in a care provider, so that was sort of different. But I could tell that he really cared, and wanted to do everything possible to help me get well. He even walked me back out to the waiting room, which I've never seen a care provider do before.

He was super friendly, took plenty of time and was very understanding with my kids. However, he got my diagnosis of a topical/staph infection wrong. I had shingles. Thank goodness he was so nice, it makes up for having shingles on my face for a week!

The P.A. I saw was incredibly passionate, friendly, thorough and treated me like I was the most important patient to him during the time I was there. In fact, I was thinking I would love have him as my primary care Dr. This was the 2nd time I have seen him due to an urgent office visit. Both visits with him left me feeling like he gave 110% to me as a patient. He is very special!
