Volunteering at Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital

Volunteers touch the community by helping their neighbors, friends, and each other. We appreciate the energy and commitment they have made to our hospital.

Our volunteers serve 35 departments, including areas such as our blood pressure clinic, gift shop, hospitality cart, family birth center, emergency room, surgery desk, foundation, pet visitation, Sunshine Club and more.

Volunteers typically work a four-hour shift, one day per week. We ask new adult volunteers to make a six month commitment and teen volunteers to make a three month commitment.

Volunteers in Action

Volunteers in Action (VIA) trains and matches volunteers with adults in Hood River and Klickitat counties. Volunteers provide assistance with rides, errands, friendly visits, respite care, light meal preparation, light housekeeping, and other neighborly support. People who receive assistance through VIA are older adults, people living with chronic health conditions, and other vulnerable adults. Our Family Caregiver Support Group meets monthly.
