Providence Sports Medicine Services

At Providence, our sports medicine physicians help you stay engaged in the activities you love. We’re here to help you prepare for sport, avoid injuries and improve your performance. We care for athletes of all ages and ability levels. And we help mature athletes, in particular, stay active and balance goals with overall wellness.

Visits often begin with an injury assessment including overuse injuries in adults and children. Injuries are typically related to soft-tissues such as ligaments and tendons; sprains, muscle pulls and fractures. Our physicians also use musculoskeletal ultrasound and can administer ultrasound guided-arthritis (hyaluronic acid) or cortisone injections.

Assessment and treatment for musculoskeletal areas include:

  • Concussion management - ImPACT®
  • Knee
  • Elbow
  • Shoulder
  • Hamstring
  • Hip
  • Ankle
  • Foot
  • Wrist

Our physicians work closely with you to listen and understand your needs and concerns. We stay abreast of current medical advances and take a personal interest in sports, fitness and nutritional health.

Sports medicine involves non-operative orthopedic care for patients who experience sports and exercise-related injuries. We work closely with local orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, radiologists and athletic trainers.
