Robotic surgery: pelvic prolapse repair

Pelvic organ prolapse is a condition that causes one or more pelvic organs, such as the bladder or uterus, to slip out of its normal position due to weak pelvic muscles. It’s a condition that affects as many as one in three women. In Southern Oregon, only Providence Medford Medical Center offers the gold standard of care: robotic-assisted minimally invasive sacrocolpopexy (prolapse repair).

The da Vinci robotic system gives our surgeons a three-dimensional, magnified view of the internal structures, which allows for:

  • Better placement of supportive mesh, reducing prolapse recurrence
  • More long-lasting repair
