Providence Cancer Center created a hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery fellowship position in 2008. The fellowship program trains physicians who have completed a general surgery residency and have a particular interest in hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery.

Program director Paul Hansen, M.D., is fellowship trained in hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery, as well as advanced laparoscopic surgery. Our program has strong experience in minimally invasive, robotic and open surgical procedures. Our practice includes both benign and malignant disease processes.

Our program offers a high volume of cases, academic opportunities and mentorship by leading surgeons in the field of minimally invasive surgery, gastrointestinal, and hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery. Our application process is through The Fellowship Council.
