The right time is now, to start thinking about your heart.
Get on your feet and add years to your life! All you need is a goal, and we'll provide you with a plan and a whole lot of support. Join the Providence Heart to Start program and train to walk or run a 5K, 10K or half-marathon. Participate in person or virtually on Facebook.
Heart To Start is focused on making exercise enjoyable, achievable and inclusive.
The program is free and includes workout plans, heart-healthy resources and a supportive community – online and in-person.
It is always important to check with your healthcare provider to make sure you are healthy enough to participate.
Here's how to get started:
- Register for a Heart To Start program near you. You can participate in-person with the scheduled program or virtually through our Facebook page.
- Review the workout plans and see which distance is right for you. Consider training for a 5K if you are new to walking or running.
- Follow the Heart To Start Facebook page. Connect with other team members, share victories and challenges and find inspiration and motivation to achieve your goals.
- Sign up for a 5K that gives you enough time to train. Click here for a calendar of races in Oregon. www.racecenter.com/race-calendar. If you are local to a Heart To Start program, we encourage you to register for the race selected for that specific community. Details will be provided during the training season.
