Cancer treatment plan and summary

Also known as: Treatment plan and summary for cancer patients

The American Society of Clinical Oncologists recommends cancer patients receive a treatment plan and summary. The treatment plan includes a personalized assessment of potential long-term risks, both physical and psychological, and a comprehensive care plan with recommendations to manage the long-term effects of cancer diagnosis and treatment. Referrals can be made for complementary services and therapies, including acupuncture, therapeutic massage, nutrition consultation, social work, counseling, genetic testing or support groups.

Many patients have concerns about the physical and psychological effects cancer may have on the rest of their lives. Providence Cancer Survivor Program can help patients assess risks and develop a comprehensive wellness plan to manage the long-term effects of their cancer diagnosis and treatment.
