Cancer conferences

Providence Cancer Institute is proud to offer multidisciplinary cancer conferences to help providers discuss diagnoses, treatment planning, and other case-specific topics. The conferences are located in the Portland Service Area, but offer remote access for healthcare providers through Microsoft Skype for Business technology.

Step One – Complete Confidentiality Agreement

All non-Providence medical staff providers must sign and return our confidentiality agreement prior to attending one of our meetings. Scan and email or fax to 503-215-3201.

Step Two - Submit Cases

Providence medical staff: Complete the Providence SharePoint submission form. (Internal Providence network access only.)

Non-Providence providers:  Complete this case submission form.

Select the option to review pathology slides if necessary for case review. Many cases are reviewed using the path reports rather than full slide review.  Please fax pathology reports to our regional pathology office at 503-893-7795.

Step Three – First Time Presenters

Our conference coordinators will contact you to provide a brief orientation on how to access the meeting.

Step Four - Remote Access to Cancer Conferences

  1. Join the conference meeting
    1. The conference coordinator will send you an Outlook meeting invitation.  To join the meeting click on Join Meeting. If the computer you're using does not have Skype for Business installed, a browser window opens and indicates if you need to download a web app.
  2. Join audio (2 options)
    1. Through the computer: if you have a USB headset with a microphone, or microphone and speaker on a laptop, then select “Use Lync” when joining the online meeting.
    2. By phone: Call the conference number provided, follow voice prompts, use the meeting I.D. as directed. Do not join audio through the computer.

FAQs

Q: How do I contact the conference coordinators?  Email or call 503-215-6724 or 503-215-6014.

Q: How do I know if my case will be presented? If you submit the case before the deadline, you may assume your case will be on the agenda. The conference coordinator will contact you if the conference is full.
