Community Teaching Kitchen celebrates first year in Milwaukie

Providence Milwaukie Hospital's Community Teaching Kitchen has celebrated one year of helping people learn to cook healthy meals and address food insecurities.

The goal of the program is to teach patients how to prepare recipes that are part of a healthy lifestyle. Designed to look like a home kitchen, the Community Teaching Kitchen seeks to address nutrition-related illness like Type 2 diabetes and identify better food choices by engaging about 13 participants at a time in a six-week Cooking Matters curriculum.
