Benefits of 3D mammography for women with dense breast tissue

More than 200,000 women in the U.S. are diagnosed with breast cancer each year. Of those women, nearly 40,000 will die of breast cancer. Early detection is still key to help improve outcomes and finish cancer.
Maureen Baxter, M.D., radiologist with Providence Cancer Center, joins KXL-radio to discuss the importance of mammograms in screening for breast cancer. She also explains the benefits of tomosynthesis (3D mammography), especially for women with dense breast tissue.
