Local philanthropist Joe Weston is Providence Child Center's 2015 "Heart of Gold" award recipient
February 09, 2015
Joe Weston has always had a unique talent for fostering potential. While the Portland real estate developer and philanthropist has built a successful business, he remains true to his humble roots and lives by the words, “from everyone who has been given much, much will be required.” His dedication to assisting those in need, with a particular interest in helping children grow, flourish, and meet their potential, is unwavering. For so many children, his efforts have provided the foundation needed to build a solid life structure and his faith provides the reinforcement.
For his commitment to children, the Heart of Gold Award will be presented to Joe Weston at Providence Child Center’s 2015 Heart of Gold ceremony and dinner, held on Thursday, Feb. 12 at Pure Space, 1315 N.W. Overton St., Portland, Ore.
OCF Joseph E. Weston Public Foundation is administered through The Oregon Community Foundation and is one of the largest in Oregon. Incredibly, when Joe decides to sell one of his properties, proceeds are put back into community organizations. His generosity has touched more than 400 non-profit organizations last year, including Providence Child Center.
Proceeds from the 2015 Heart of Gold event will benefit the Center for Medically Fragile Children and support the life enriching programs and therapies that help these children reach their fullest potential.
