Sensory PDX: Communicating - even without words

Please join us in an interactive discussion with Eric Vianelle, MA, CCC-SLP designed to help support language and play development with a child who does not use language to communicate. Discussion will encourage attendees to:

  • Analyze and describe how your non-verbal child is communicating.
  • Look at different methods that foster and build communication including: The Hanen Program’s® - It Takes Two to Talk ® and More Than Words®, DIRFloortime ® Approach, facilitated play and the use of augmentative communication devices
  • Prepare to create a plan of few small routines to expand language in your child 

Eric is currently a member of Sensory Kids inter-disciplinary team in Portland and has been a speech language pathologist for 18 years in California and Oregon. His trainings in dance, creative movement and yoga have greatly influenced his unique approach to speech and language therapy. His continuing education includes DIR-Floortime, SOS and Cranial Sacral Therapy.
