Patients and Visitors

Visitors can be good medicine for patients. Friends and family members are welcome to visit patients during visiting hours.

Current Visitor Policy

Patient care determines the schedule for visitors. If a guest will aid in the patients healing and won’t disturb other patients, visitors are welcome during visitor hours. If a patient needs time alone, our nurses will make sure they have the privacy they need.

For patient information, call 503-216-2115.

Providence Guest Services

The friendly staff of Providence Guest Services can ease hospitalization concerns for patients and their families. They can help arrange guest housing or make hotel reservations for out-of-town patients and visitors, give directions and transportation advice, and recommend a local restaurant for a good breakfast, lunch, dinner or snack.

Call Providence Guest Services at 1-888-550-1575, between 8:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m., seven days a week.

Waiting Areas

There are specially designated lounge areas for visitors on each patient floor and on the main floor in the lobby. Specific waiting areas have been designated for families of patients in the critical care units, the emergency department, and surgery.

During certain hours, a volunteer is on duty in the surgery waiting room to keep family members informed about the progress of surgery.

Your meals in the hospital depend on your diagnosis and treatment; therefore, your physician requests an appropriate diet for you. Nutrition Services staff provide you with a menu designed and adjusted from the diet recommended by your physician, from which you can make selections for the next day.

In some cases, due to diet parameters or last-minute diet order changes by your physician, foods you have chosen will not be sent to you. If you prefer, the staff will make nutritious selections for you.

The hospital has several facilities where you can purchase food and beverages. Our daily menu is posted in the elevators, or may be obtained by dialing ext. 62363 within the hospital.

DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses

Honor the compassion and care bedside nurses provide their patients every day.

The DAISY Award was established by the DAISY Foundation in memory of J. Patrick Barnes who died at age 33 of ITP, an auto-immune disease. The Barnes family was awestruck by the clinical skills, caring and compassion of the nurses who cared for him. They created this national award to say thank you to nurses everywhere.

By filling out the form below, you are nominating a nurse as a deserving recipient of the DAISY Award. This nurse's clinical skill and especially her/his compassionate care exemplify the kind of nurse that our patients, their families, and our staff recognize as an outstanding role model. She/he/they consistently meets all of the following Providence core values: compassion, dignity, justice, excellence and integrity.
