Ski and Snowboard Safety Tips

To ensure you enjoy your visit, here are a few important things to remember:
  • Prepare for the weather: Wear layers of clothes. If you’re cold, add layers. If you’re hot, remove them. Dry gloves and a helmet liner, hat or headband are good options for staying warm.
  • Wear protective gear: It’s important to protect yourself while skiing and snowboarding – and that means wearing the proper gear. Wear a ski helmet and goggles, and make sure they fit properly.
  • Ski with a friend: Although the single lift line always seems to move faster, it’s safer to ski with a friend. Designate a meeting place in case you get separated, and use cell phones to stay in touch.
  • Stay hydrated: When you’re focused on getting in as many runs as possible, sometimes you forget to stay hydrated. Don’t forget to drink plenty of fluids as the day goes along. Being dehydrated can lead to fatigue and other problems.
