John Wiest, M.D., is the founding physician of Pacific Vascular Specialists in Portland, where he has practiced for three decades. Dr. Wiest’s healing philosophy emphasizes care suited to the individual: close listening to the needs and concerns of the patient; educating patients and their families about all treatment options, including less-invasive procedures when appropriate; and utilization of the safest, most technologically advanced techniques for the best outcomes.
Dr. Wiest is certified by the American Board of Surgery in Vascular Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He received his medical degree from University of California at Los Angeles and completed residencies in general surgery at UCLA and at University of Utah Medical Center. He completed a vascular surgery fellowship at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in 1985. He holds memberships in Portland area medical societies and has privileges at several hospitals within the metropolitan area.
Dr. Wiest enjoys fly-fishing, and exploring the Oregon coast with his family.
