Patient Ratings and Comments
About Our Survey

The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the CAHPS Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5-point scale in order to display results in a 5-star rating. Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety with the exception of any language that may be considered slander, libel or contain private health information, which will be removed prior to publishing the comments. These comments are the views and opinions of patients and are not endorsed by or necessarily reflect the views of Providence.

Dr. Walsh established a good communication exchange, was thorough and I left with no remaining questions with regard to my cardiac care. Dr. Walsh adjusted my medications to appropriate levels during this visit. I wish to thank Dr. Walsh and this practice for their willingness to take me on as a new patient.

Dr. Craig Walsh is a brilliant Cardiologist. He is also kind , accessible. and communicates in a way that is informative and comforting. That is probably why it takes 6 weeks to get an appointment with him.

Never had my own cardiologist before, think I did good! I think that I met everyone else in the group, during my two hospital visits, and Dr. Walsh could see me where I wanted to.

Dr. Walsh noticed unnecessary medications that could be discontinued & could help with low blood pressure problems. He also takes time to speak loud enough for a person that's hard of hearing.

This appointment was scheduled by THE DOCTOR. As a patient, if I ask for an appointment, it takes far too long One day a week at this facility is not enough to take care of the patients in a timely manner. Two to four months in advance is not good enough.

Everyone in the Providence Health System treats me like family. They don't want me in any pain , if they can help with that !!!

I had gone to the hospital because of chest pain. Although it turned out to be nothing, Dr. Walsh told me on two occasions that I had done the right thing by getting it checked. That positive validation will most likely ensure that I won't hesitate next time. I appreciate that.

Dr Walsh was confident about my heart flow and ordered the stent surgery the next day! He can tell you better than I can. [...] The confidence I had to overcome this situation came from everyone in the Medical Arena. Thank you for doing what you enjoy and I and my Wife are great full forever.

Ease of scheduling a follow up appointment within the time framework provider suggested is problematic. Asked to set up a 6 month follow-up, but scheduling said is was "too early". This is the second time I've encountered this issue; last time my appointment ended up 60 days past the 6 months, and I had to drive from Sherwood to Vancouver for appointment or it would have been another 45 days.

Some confusion arose because the doctor thought he was giving me good news and he was not able to hear why I was so concerned about my echoes. When I told him of my family history [...] he did not stop to hear that and respond reflectively. He said that I was overdoing my reaction to the echo numbers. [...] I liked him as a person and don't want to come down too hard on him, but if he listens more to the next patients it will be a good thing for him. [...]

I thought I should have an EKG done at the visit since I have had two events. When I asked why he did not do an EKG he said it is because you are doing so well. So I think my last EKG was done the first of the year and I do not return to Dr. Walsh for a year. I think he is a good doctor but I was concerned.
