Biography

In her practice as a family medicine physician, Yen Vo, M.D., believes her most important role is to be an educator for her patients. "Patients need the right tools to make healthy decisions. I want my patients to know I'm their partner and that our common goal is to keep them healthy," said Dr. Vo.

Dr. Vo chose to become a family medicine physician so she could form personal relationships with her patients. "I'd like to help treat the whole patient, not just their diseases or conditions," she says.

After receiving her medical degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Aurora, Colo., Dr. Vo completed her internship and residency at McLaren Family Practice in Flint, Mich. Dr. Vo is board certified in family medicine.

In her free time, Dr. Vo enjoys being outdoors, trying new, delicious foods, gardening and cross-stitching.

I had a horrible experience with this provider. Not only was she judgmental, but she took no time to listen or to explain the importance of my condition/things I could do to make improve my condition. [...] When she left the room, she did not give me a summary of what was discussed during our appointment, and when the medical assistant came in, I asked if I could see the doctor again so she could prescribe something for my pain. I waited for nearly 20 minutes before leaving, as the doctor never returned. I will never return to see this doctor again [...]

The time spent with the doctor was less than 10 minutes. When I spoke she didn't even look at me the whole time. This was supposed to be a routine wellness check and annual exam and there was no annual exam. She left the exam room saying she was going to order something (not sure what), and didn't come back in until her assistant came back in with paperwork and a phone number on a post-it note to call. The doctor did not give instructions or offer any sort of "follow-up" care. Since I am a new patient, they said I had to have a "new-patient visit" before having an annual exam. So apparently a 10 minute conversation with the doctor about my medical history (not even current medical concerns) is considered a "new-patient visit". I am so very disappointed [...]

Would not listen nor answer my questions on medication I was put on by my other doctor. Wanted to know what the medication was used for. Not how to say the names of the medication.

this was my very first appt. to meet with a new doc as I have switched providers. the dr I saw was rude. initially had no idea why I was there. Dr.was bashing on my previous dr about medication that should not have been prescribed for me. she made me feel very uncomfortable to the point of wanting to walk out the door. She left me in the room and I was unsure if my appt. waseven over. Your provider should make you feel comfortable and respected. She did not give me this and I called right after to schedule a new Dr.

My provider did not have my medical history and didn't seem to believe what I spoke about regarding my medications. I have been to another doctor for the past 10 years and really couldn't explain my history in 10-15 minutes. I felt like I was defending myself. This provider felt the need to tell (not ask) me that she was going to give me a drug test (I had provided a urine sample prior to seeing her). I was not asking for refills of all my medications. My test was all negative. I will not be returning to that facility or recommend it to anyone. I am also having a back issue and she recommended therapy but I have an issue with my spine I found out and not sure if therapy is a better option or should I see a chiropractor. I have never felt this way at a doctors office before nor have I ever given such a negative response to a survey but this really bothered me.
