Biography

Lynn VanDeHey-Thomas' philosophy of care as a physician assistant is to create a patient-provider team and encourage patients to take an active role in their health care. "I became a provider because I want to enhance the lives of my patients and help them achieve a healthy lifestyle," she says.

"I emphasize good communcation, not only between myself and my patients, but also with my colleagues," Lynn said. "I hope this leads to long-lasting patient relationships, while helping them improve or maintain their quality of life."

Lynn received both her Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science and her master's degree in physician assistant studies from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Ore. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

Born and raised in the Portland area, Lynn loves calling the Pacific Northwest home. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, cross-stitching, and playing board games with her husband and three children.

About Our Survey

The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the CAHPS Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5-point scale in order to display results in a 5-star rating. Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety with the exception of any language that may be considered slander, libel or contain private health information, which will be removed prior to publishing the comments.

Dr. Vandehay-Thomas is an excellent doctor who listens to her patients and seems to care about what they have to say. Her later responses to my questions via email were prompt.

I went in concerned about a possible health issue and I was impressed with the speed to get tests scheduled and other referral appts set-up. The way the "primary home groups" are set up is a fantastic way to balance the needs of most patients. The person I saw on short notice was apart of my doctor's team and she was wonderful to work with during the first visit. Overall, it would be great to develop a relationship with one doctor if I had a chronic condition, but for my health needs the system works well.
