Megan Smith, PA-C, always knew medicine was a good career fit because of her interest in health and healing. She chose cardiology because of the skills required, as well as the need for a broad knowledge of acute and chronic diseases. Megan emphasizes working in partnership with her entire medical team - the physicians, nurses and patients - to provide the best care possible. "Each patient has unique needs and should be treated as an individual," she says.
After earning her bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Oregon, she completed her master's degree in health science and her physician assistant certification from Duke University in Durham, N.C. Megan is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
Megan was born in Bend and raised in Oregon City, Ore., but has traveled extensively and spent time living in Spain. In her free time, she enjoys tennis, snowboarding, hiking and yoga.
