Biography
Karen Smith, M.S., C.C.C.-S.L.P., is a speech-language pathologist who received her bachelor of arts degree in communicative disorders from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her master of arts degree in communicative disorders from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. She worked at the Head Injury Rehabilitation Center in Juneau, WI before moving to Portland in 2001. She has worked for Providence Outpatient Rehabilitation since her move to Portland. She joined the ALS team in 2005. Karen's special interests include augmentative and alternative communication, dysphasia and cognitive-communication disorders following strokes, head injuries and other neurological conditions.
