About Our Survey

The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the CAHPS Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5-point scale in order to display results in a 5-star rating. Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety with the exception of any language that may be considered slander, libel or contain private health information, which will be removed prior to publishing the comments.

Dr Cynthia is the best. The office is not close to my home or work, but I go there because of her. If she ever left, I would likely find somewhere more convenient for me and my family.

Dr. Shaff-Chin is very informed and thoughtful. I trust her advice and opinions whole heartedly. She listens and I feel comfortable talking with her about anything. She spends plenty of time and never seems rushed or in a hurry to get out of the room.

i have always had excellent care from Dr Shaff-Chin until my appointment on [...]. she seemed hurried and distracted; I tried to talk to her about [...] and receieved no response at all. my concerns in this regard were not addressed. it was very disappointing because up until now she has been WONDERFUL and a huge help/support to me. i left feeling neglected. however I love the "team" concept; it has really worked well for me.

We have a long relationship and she understands my brain injury and blood thinner needs. She is concerned about me as a person and a client, and the best listener ever. She was the one who informed me that the insurance situation was changing, and got the social worker to get things straightened out for me. I trust her and feel safe with her.

I have an ongoing health issue which is impeding my activities and I feel as if it's not being taken seriously or addressed in any useful way. This is frustrating.

Good: She's nice and knowledgeable. Bad: She had poor recollection/documentation of one aspect of my medical history that resulted in her being dismissive of a current issue. Also, her refusal to provide a Rx that would provide short-term relief for the same issue that is having a negative impact on my quality of life will likely be the deciding factor in me seeking a new primary care physician.

The only trouble I experienced was trying to get my records from a NYC provider and getting those records scanned. It doesn't seem as if all the office staff are sensitive to how distressing is to have "records" problems. It doesn't inspire confidence.

In the time that Dr. Shaff-Chin has been my physician, I have appreciated her empathy and thoroughness. However, in the past couple of visits, I have felt that she is rushed and in particular on this recent visit she did not really give a diagnosis.
