Physician Assistant Dan Sellers grew up going through the cycle of playing sports, getting injured, going to doctors and healing. This process is what spurred his interest in becoming a medical provider with a specialty in orthopedic surgery. Dan is a longtime physician assistant to Dr. Kris Moore, an orthopedic surgeon.
“I enjoy the surgical, hands-on aspect of orthopedics,” he says. “The more tangible enjoyment is watching patients improve and regain their quality of life. I like seeing my patients get back to the activities, sports and life events important to them. This is often not easy and requires surgery and extended periods of time off from work and play. Having a connection with patients builds trust and eases that transition back into normal life.”
Dan practices listening skills to understand how an event impacts his patients and offers advice to help them make informed choices.
Dan earned his master’s degree in physician assistant studies from Eastern Virginia Medical School and completed his undergraduate degree in biology from Cedarville University.
Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, Dan enjoys spending time with his wife and four children, fishing, hiking, going to the coast and mountains and coaching sports.
