Valery graduated from the University of Puget Sound in 1989 and began working for Providence in 1990. She has always enjoyed seeing a wide variety of patients and began early on working in hand therapy and peditrics. She has assisted in the development of pediatric outpatient services at the Gerry Frank Center for Children's Care, and Providence Children's Development Institute East and Newberg. She has also been involved in the NICU at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center.
Valery has specialized in the areas of sensory processing, pediatric feeding, hippotherapy (using the dynamic movement of the horse during treatment) and hand therapy. Although she has specialty areas, the desire to make a difference in people's lives is her main goal.
