Biography

Dr. Arturo Salazar became a doctor to help people live healthier lives. He chose family medicine because it involves using a wide scope of knowledge for the benefit of patients.

In his practice, Dr. Salazar partners with his patients and educates them on preventive care so they are empowered to take charge of their health. I enjoy watching patients take control of their conditions and get better," he says.

After earning his medical degree from Universidad de Monterrey in Mexico, he completed an internship and residency through IUPUI-Methodist Family Medicine Residency Program in Indianapolis. He completed a fellowship in maternal-child care through PCC Wellness at West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, Ill.

Fluent in Spanish, Dr. Salazar was born and raised in Mexico. In his free time, he enjoys "football" (soccer).

Patient Ratings and Comments
About Our Survey

The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the CAHPS Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5-point scale in order to display results in a 5-star rating. Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety with the exception of any language that may be considered slander, libel or contain private health information, which will be removed prior to publishing the comments. These comments are the views and opinions of patients and are not endorsed by or necessarily reflect the views of Providence.

He is always very kind and has good bed side manner. He is very thorough in asking questions and trying to collect all the information needed to make a good diagnosis. When I feel like their could be a potential issue he always does a good job of testing and reassuring that the issue is under control.

The only negative I have is the time it takes to get prescriptions refills to the pharmacy. Prescriptions that only give 30 days of the medicine and take 5 days to get a refill are hard to keep up with. More of an insurance problem than a provider problem.

I have already recommended people to this Clinic, one of which already joined and I believe the other one will. I just talked to her a couple days ago, she's fed up with her doctor and I told her how wonderful and kind Dr. Salazar is.

Seems Providence Doctors will not prescribe pain medication anymore, that is very sad!! Some people really need it to carry on with a better quality of life. But instead you instruct your Doctors to send people to a pain management clinic, where they have to see you once a month [...]!! And want to do more and more procedures that don`t work.

I really like Dr. Salazar. He respects my opinions and listens. He doesn't seem to have the "ego" of most doctors--eg: I'm the one with the medical degree, you don't know anything. I'm sticking with Dr. Salazar as long as I can!

I believe that Dr. Salazar is overworked and/or overbooked with too many patients to be able to give them quality attention.
