Biography

As Kathleen Rocco, PA-C, began her career as a physician assistant, she received sound advice from a physician colleague: Break down patient concerns and focus on one thing at a time. "That advice served me well and still works today," said Kathleen. "The best things in life are worked on and enjoyed when we focus on one thing at a time."

Kathleen believes a team approach to patient care improves coordination and quality care. "Care should be personalized and adjusted as we age and change," she says. "I like to emphasize information gathering and education with a goal of helping the patient decide what works best for them."

After earning her Bachelor of Science degree in general science from the University of Oregon in Eugene, Kathleen completed her master's degree in physician assistant studies from Oregon Health & Science University in Portland. 

Kathleen was born in Nebraska but has spent most of her adult life in Oregon. In her free time, she enjoys reading and creating mosaic art.

The care provider was mostly focused in on the computer. I was not impressed with the level of interest shown to me as an individual. [...] The receptionists were absolutely disinterested in my as an individual and showed no real concern or courteous behavior to me. [...]

Having never seen this doctor before I new I could trust her for what I needed.

[...] It was good that this new PA scheduled a blood test to be sure the level of my [...] prescription was correct. However, I did not understand the the terminology used, so when they said she had lowered the level of my prescription because it was low, it did not make sense to me. I used the text message function on MyChart to ask for an explanation and received a very helpful explanation from my PA within a few hours. I really like that way of communicating that kind of technical information. [...] At the actual appointment the PA was very likeable and a good communicator [...]

Dr. Rocco was excellent other than the fact that I had to wait 45 minutes for her to visit with me.

this was my first visit but I have a bad painful arm and that was what I wanted to be seen for and told her so. but now my apt is in August. the wait time between appts is too long for me. I am not sure if the clinic type dr. will work for us. this is such a chance. really concerned.

Did not know why I was there, I had to explain it all after I was told the notes were in the computer as to why I had the follow up visit-She is not my primary provider, so I had to start from scratch

Dr. Rocco was very thorough. She had spend 40 minutes with me in trying to determine what I needed for help in fighting my illness. Although medication used had not cleared up my sinus, cough problem yet.
