Biography

Sarah Reed, PA-C, was inspired to become a physician assistant after volunteering in a free urgent care clinic, where she realized the importance of access to primary care. "I enjoy helping my patients reach and maintain their health goals, while helping them make informed choices about their health," she says. "Working as a team alongside patients and other health care professionals is essential to providing our patients the best care they can receive."

After completing her bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Wash., Sarah earned her master's degree in physician assistant studies from Oregon Health & Science University in Portland.

Sarah was born and raised in Minnesota and lived in Tacoma for 10 years before relocating to Portland. In her free time, she enjoys long-distance running, skiing, hiking, yoga and spending time with her husband and dog.

Patient Ratings and Comments
About Our Survey

The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the CAHPS Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5-point scale in order to display results in a 5-star rating. Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety with the exception of any language that may be considered slander, libel or contain private health information, which will be removed prior to publishing the comments. These comments are the views and opinions of patients and are not endorsed by or necessarily reflect the views of Providence.

The tech that took my blood pressure etc. was acting odd. She acted surprised that my blood pressure and and vitals were really good and made a comment " I thought I was going to have to scare you and tell you bad news." That remark was just strange. There is absolutely nothing to indicate that I would have high blood pressure. The entire visit was one of the weirdest experiences I have had in a clinic. When I got out of there I just felt like I needed to go home and take a shower. I am probably going to look for a different primary care.

My provider was very understanding and put me at ease very quickly. (Hadn't been to a physician for over 4 yrs due a bad experience). She listened to my concerns and I felt like she cared about me as a person rather than a number to simply "get in and out of the door".

This is the first time I saw Sarah Reed. I liked her immediately. She seemed to know what my problem was with my arm pain. She is a good listener, and showed me a few exercises to do. I had x-ray taken of my shoulder, and she gave me a referral to see the Physical Therapist.
