In his practice, Michael Parsons, M.D., emphasizes knowledge. "I want my patients to fully understand what is happening in regards to their health, what can be done to improve it (if necessary), and why I make certain recommendations," he says.
"I believe that I am here to treat people, not diseases," says Dr. Parsons. "I am most interested in discovering the complexity of my patients as individuals and tailoring their care to the best medical evidence, as well as the needs and goals of each person."
After earning his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, Dr. Parsons completed an internship at Baylor College of Medicine and its affiliated hospitals, a residency at Presbyterian Hospital in New York, and a fellowship at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center.
Dr. Parsons was born in the Northeast, but has lived in Oregon for more than 10 years. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and son, and finding outlets for his background in singing.
