Dr. Kyle Mouery decided to become a family physician because he enjoys caring for all types of people and a variety of health problems. “I do not want my relationship with patients and families to be determined by age, gender, or a specific type of health problem. It is a great privilege and honor to form long-lasting relationships with individuals and families as their doctor and share in the story of their lives,” he says.
With an emphasis on preventive medicine, Dr. Mouery tries to listen to his patients first. Then begin working together to formulate a plan that incorporates your preferences and experiences, his professional expertise, and the best medical science available. “My most important role as a physician is to be an educator and consultant on how to stay healthy, manage chronic illness, and discuss options for how to approach and treat a new health problem,” he says.
Dr. Mouery completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Oregon and earned his medical degree from Oregon Health & Science University. He completed his residency with Providence Oregon Family Medicine Residency. He has special interests in hospital medicine, sports medicine, prenatal care, children's health, and geriatrics.
Born and raised in Salem, Ore., Dr. Mouery enjoys typical Oregon things like good coffee, great local food, traveling, exercise, gardening, and all types of outdoor activities. Most of all he enjoys spending time with his family (including chasing his kids around). He speaks English and conversational Japanese.
