Biography & Education

Biography
Claudine Moreno, M.D., values being a physician because she enjoys the combination of helping people feel better and problem solving. She likes to consult with her patients to help them figure what they can do to stay healthy.

A question she often asks herself is, "How can I help my patient be as healthy as possible into old age?" Because her patients range in age from newborn to 100 years, she feels that she has good insight into what it takes to stay healthy and active over a lifetime.

After graduating from Harvard University with a degree in biology, Dr. Moreno earned her medical degree from the University of California, Davis School of Medicine. She completed her residency at Oregon Health & Science University and is board certified in family medicine.

Dr. Moreno was born in California. Away from her medical practice, she likes to cycle, hike, cook and play with her two young sons.

Patient Ratings and Comments
About Our Survey

The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the CAHPS Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5-point scale in order to display results in a 5-star rating. Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety with the exception of any language that may be considered slander, libel or contain private health information, which will be removed prior to publishing the comments. These comments are the views and opinions of patients and are not endorsed by or necessarily reflect the views of Providence.

In the past, receptionists were unfriendly and often they were on a mood.I often wait for too long in the waiting room. And I wish administration make it easier for nurses and doctors so they can spend more time wtth patients during visits.

I was satisfied on how she treated me. She was attentive and showed that she cared of how i felt. I think I found my primary doctor after moving from one doctor to another.

She was very helpful with ideas about my migraines, but not so much about the ear pain I had. A day later, my husband actually suggested using cortisone cream which took care of the pain. The provider was not helpful at all on the original reason for my visit.

[...] I have seen her twice, and the first time was better b/c she didn't seem rushed. This time she seemed very rushed. She still addressed everything, but it's not fun to feel that during an appointment. I got an appt at the last minute, and I am sure that this added more to her plate. I don't blame her for that, I can't speak to what else may have been going on that day, and it certainly doesn't mean she isn't a good doctor. I guess I got what I needed, but I could def feel the pressure of time constraints. [...]

I liked the reminder call I received, when I failed to make an appointment for my annual check up. I appreciated the follow-up call. I was able to make an appointment to come in right away.

Dr. Moreno is a great doctor. She's always looking out for my best care and offering me availability of other doctors or medical services I may need or have an interest in using. She's never judgmental and offers me options or suggestions that will improve my health

Herpes type 2 outbreaks were misdiagnosed as a potential reoccurring staph infection. Only a swab test was offered, which came back negative. After a few visits, I finally went to [...] and the outbreak was properly diagnosed and a blood test was ordered immediately. The fact that a blood test was not offered by Dr. Moreno showed a lack of awareness or consideration for modern sexual health. Not only did this case months of unnecessary untreated discomfort, but it also left my partner at risk.

Dr Moreno seems very smart but too rushed/fast. Told me twice we would talk about an issue later. She also told me I needed to make an appt to follow up and then she just told me to triple my meds (that she prescribed) which she easily could have done over my chart!!

Dr. Moreno is a smart, personable, competent physician. I trust that she willl alert me to any condition or finding that needs attention and follow-up. As she herself said during my first visit years ago, she is perceived as going too fast. I understand the pressure she must feel in having to see X number of patients within Y timeframe, so a hurried style is certainly explainable. However, her simultaneous use of the electronic chart while talking I believe serves to distract her attention, at least that is my perception. Sometimes just listening serves the patient (me) best, but I realize that her hurried style and the prescribed visit pace works against that. She probably listens sufficient to detect anything untoward but the "know me" part of the Providence mantra is questionable.

The wait time was short and she was easy to talk to about health care.

Love Dr. Morano! But I wish that the visits could be a bit longer and not just 15 minutes! Not her fault--this has to do with what the provider is requiring.

I am impressed with all aspects of the care received. I have been pretty lucky this last year to not need much medical service (my first year in Portland and with Providence), I was impressed with the on boarding process, with the quality of the personal communications, and with the customer service I have received. Care has been appropriate and diagnoses have been spot on.

I think this practice is super responsive. It is hard because I am rarely sick so do not see the provider but maybe 1-2 a year but even with that the service is good and she takes time to figure out what I need.

Why won't my PCP place an IUD? This should be made more clear up front as I would like a relationship with my PCP and to not have to go to other MDs for basic procedures.

I find Dr. Moreno to be kind and compassionate and that is balanced with her excellent knowledge. She listens well, but also keeps things moving in a way that does not make you feel as if she is rushing you. I have had a couple of PCPs in the past that made me feel I was not being heard (like the one I kept telling I had a lump in my breast and it took a year to get a mammogram--and I had breatst cancer), but I feel that Dr. Moreno has the ability to listen with compassion, respond with knowledge, and that she cares about her patients. I feel like I m in very good hands.

She is a great dr.! I saw Dr. Moreno as my other primary care person was on vacation. I have an injury issue due to sports and she seemed to know a lot about sports related injuries.
