Biography & Education

Laurie Delanty Miller manages gastrointestinal and hemotologic cancer clinical trials for Providence Cancer Center throughout the Portland metro area.

Laurie graduated from Willamette University in Salem, Ore., and spent many years in the classroom as a high school science teacher before venturing into the world of oncology. She graduated from Linfield School of Nursing in Portland, Ore., and spent time on the medical oncology and bone marrow transplant floor at Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital before transitioning to Providence Health & Services in outpatient oncology. Her love of science combined with the quest for answers brought her to the clinical trials end of research.

Laurie says, “I love working in research because it gives a tangible and hopeful face to cancer . We’re treating it by generating a healthier version of the very best building blocks in our body!”  Laurie focuses on all disease-specific clinical trials, with the exception of breast, at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center and Providence Milwaukie Hospital.
