Biography

"The best part of being a physician is when you've really helped someone feel better," says Annie Mack, M.D. "That may be as concrete as treating an ear infection, managing a chronic disease, or providing emotional support and advice to a new patient."

In her practice, Dr. Mack encourages her patients - both children and adults - to maintain a healthy, balanced diet and to participate in regular physical activity. "Together, eating well and staying active can help prevent many chronic diseases," she says. "My most important role is to provide information and evidence-based medicine so that patients, parents and/or caregivers can make informed decisions."

Dr. Mack earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She completed her internship and residency in pediatrics and internal medicine at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Mass. She is board certified in both internal medicine and pediatrics.

Away from the office, she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, traveling, learning about new cultures and going to farmers' markets.

About Our Survey

The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the CAHPS Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5-point scale in order to display results in a 5-star rating. Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety with the exception of any language that may be considered slander, libel or contain private health information, which will be removed prior to publishing the comments.

My first visit with this provider. So glad I found a physician who listens, and takes the "whole" person into account. I'm glad to have her as an ally in my efforts to continue lifestyle changes that have improved my health and well-being in the past year.

[...] As a new patient I needed to provide background information on my medical history. I was provided the time needed to do so as well as Dr. Mack taking the time to ask the right questions.

She didn't seem to believe what i was saying. [...] This doctor asked me what my symptoms are then interrupted me and did not allow me to tell her. She did give me a referral to a Neurologist and a podiatrist. [...]

Dr Annie Mack is amazing. I love my provider. She is extremely empathetic, attentive, compassionate, and attentive. Dr Mack not only listens but she truly hears me. She always makes me feel comfortable, cared for, and I there is no way I can adequately express my admiration for her in words.

This was my first visit; I moved to PDX recently [...]. I was so happy with how kind and welcoming everyone involved in this practice was -- from my first call to establish an appointment, to those I called when I had to reschedule (twice), to those in the office. They all seemed like they enjoy their jobs [...]. I was impressed and comforted to find a good practice and primary care physician. Many of my colleagues in Portland tell me they aren't enamored with their primary care docs and couldn't recommend their GP to me. So I felt very fortunate to have such a good experience after needing to find a GP on my own. THANK YOU!
