Biography

In her practice as a family physician, Dr. Cheryl LaPlante emphasizes positive lifestyle changes for her patients before recommending medications and medical procedures. "I try to empower patients to make informed health care decisions," said Dr. LaPlante. "I'm here to serve as an educator and advisor to help my patients live healthier."

Dr. LaPlante chose family medicine because she's interested in caring for individuals and the community. She enjoys forming long-term health care relationships with her patients.

After earning her medical degree from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, Calif., she completed an internship at Doctor's Hospital Medical Center in Montclair, Calif. She then completed a family medicine residency at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton, Calif. Dr. LaPlante received additional medical training in osteopathic medicine and is board certified in family medicine.

A native of Fort Knox, Ky., Dr. LaPlante is married with three children and one grandchild. In her free time, she enjoys reading, gardening and running.
