About Our Survey

The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the CAHPS Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5-point scale in order to display results in a 5-star rating. Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety with the exception of any language that may be considered slander, libel or contain private health information, which will be removed prior to publishing the comments. These comments are the views and opinions of patients and are not endorsed by or necessarily reflect the views of Providence.

He was very focused on my experiences with the stroke, the materials he read on the computer about my hospitalization, his careful consideration to prescription changes, his desire to see me again in one month.

I would prefer seeing my regular health care provider. The Dr I saw seemed grumpy and uncaring. The last few times I have needed to see a Dr I have been unable to see my Dr, I feel like I am just being passed around.

My care provider is very good. But the Providence System to follow up a referral is bad. I have [...] and didn't know I can go and get the apt with an specialist without referral. I didn't know and have to wait for a long time to be seen by a reumatologist that my doctor recommended. It was urgent and didn't happen. Very hard to get the apt. and when I called to ask of the apt they act without any urgent or interest to give me the apt.

I would recommend any of my 3 doctor's at providence to anyone anytime, And try to get friends to go to Providence for their care. By the way, my last appointment The Power was out and had to work without electric and the office did a fantastic job. Also a huge advantage is your epic system or whatever it is called that no matter what doctor I got to has all my private information from all the different clinics I go to and I have had great help from many of the office's by them being able to tell that I have an appointment on a day that they may need to see me.Or even have had one office change my appt at another office to match up with another appointment. It is a real relief to have all your providers hooked up on the same system.

After all the tests given, I'm not sure what to do as no one said what I should do now. I don't know whether to follow up with the visit scheduled for the PA in my cardiologist's office, wait for an appointment with the cardiologist, or see my primary doctor again in December as scheduled. What do I do?

DR. Kern saved my life. He did what many primary care physicians would not have done and was to order a blood culture. The results of the blood culture sent me to ER for anti-biotics and arriving at ER I was septic and immediately admitted by ER physician to ICU where excellent care was provided throughout my one week stay in the hos[ital. and current post hospital stay

07/06/2016
Dr Kern is a very thorough Internist and he listens to his patients. I am a physician and I discuss everything with him and he writes all my prescriptions except for the Hormone replacement. It is easy to keep tract of things that way and if another prescribes something DR Kern will know if there is a conflict. He is also always up to date on the latest and also quite flexible if I come up with an idea about my medical needs. I have been seeing him for care for over 35 years.

Very frustrating that I got no follow-up; I've particular complaints/symptoms and I had to inquire about results of blood tests and when those indicated nothing abnormal there was nothing offered nor any further contact - the symptoms are still there I want know know why but it seems I'll have to go elsewhere for those answers; I am clearly not getting any help here
