About Our Survey

The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the CAHPS Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5-point scale in order to display results in a 5-star rating. Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety with the exception of any language that may be considered slander, libel or contain private health information, which will be removed prior to publishing the comments. These comments are the views and opinions of patients and are not endorsed by or necessarily reflect the views of Providence.

Excellent provider; clinic is excellent. Even though I would have liked to get into see my provider within a day or two of calling, I was informed that I could "walk in" if I called ahead, but may have to wait for some time. I then opted for a regular appointment with 4 days.

No problems with Dr. Kern at all many times he will have me go see someone and does not tell me that he has to do a referral and just has it done prior to me going. You can't ask for much better than that. And always tells me what to expect. [...]

When I called for my appointment, my primary care provider was on vacation, to return in 5 days, but his first open appointment was 2 or 3 weeks out. When I explained what I was calling about, the scheduler told me that she would schedule me for the first opening date, but that I could call on his first day back and ask for a "same day appointment". That was very helpful to me, to know that I could get an appointment the next week; however choosing the scheduled date worked well for me as it turned out.

Dr. Kern is not my PCP. It was an emergency situation which I did not expect to have happen. My Dr. was not in that day. The Dr. was kind, knowledgable, and was on top of things. The receptionists, nurses, everyone I dealt with were excellent and I'm not just saying that.

This was my first visit to Dr. Kern and I was very happy with his knowledge and ability to explain his reasons for changing my prescriptions from what I had been taking. So far, he has been spot on with the new medication's and I saw improvements within 48 hours. He is definitely my new primary provider.

I had been referred to a specialist who ordered a large array of bloodwork. He had Dr. Kern CCed on the results, there did turn out to be some abnormal results and when I was in the office for this past appointment to my knowledge Dr. Kern never reviewed those abnormal labs, he certainly never acknowledged the fact that he looked or reviewed those abnormal labs. Being a retired RN I have familiarity with the abnormals and what I need to be looking for and will go back in a few months and insist on rechecking them to see if they have dropped to a more normal range. However if I did not have this background, and he disregarded these labs for someone else that would not be a good thing.

[...] I saw him for a very sore shoulder and upper bicep (left arm) there is an obvious difference in left arm to my right arm and I said to Dr Kern look at the two differences (Dr Kern said I have a torn muscle) at that point he lifted his leg and stomped on the floor as to tell me to shut up I was shocked and before I left I told his nurse she said that's odd I said I know. My care provider is very good. But the Providence System to follow up a referral is bad. I have [...] and didn't know I can go and get the apt with an specialist without referral. I didn't know and have to wait for a long time to be seen by a reumatologist that my doctor recommended. It was urgent and didn't happen. Very hard to get the apt. and when I called to ask of the apt they act without any urgent or interest to give me the apt.

I would recommend any of my 3 doctor's at providence to anyone anytime, And try to get friends to go to Providence for their care. By the way, my last appointment The Power was out and had to work without electric and the office did a fantastic job. Also a huge advantage is your epic system or whatever it is called that no matter what doctor I got to has all my private information from all the different clinics I go to and I have had great help from many of the office's by them being able to tell that I have an appointment on a day that they may need to see me.Or even have had one office change my appt at another office to match up with another appointment. It is a real relief to have all your providers hooked up on the same system.

After all the tests given, I'm not sure what to do as no one said what I should do now. I don't know whether to follow up with the visit scheduled for the PA in my cardiologist's office, wait for an appointment with the cardiologist, or see my primary doctor again in December as scheduled. What do I do?
