Dr. Bertha Kao takes a holistic approach to pediatric care. "I feel privileged to be a resource for patients and their parents," she says. "The patient's quality of life comes first. I am an advocate for child health--both physical and mental wellness."
Growing up, Dr. Kao was interested in biology and enjoyed helping others, so she decided to become a physician. She chose to specialize in pediatrics because she enjoys being with children. Dr. Kao has two children of her own.
After earning her medical degree from Boston University, she completed her internship and residency in pediatrics at Brown University in Providence, R.I. She trained in newborn medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital, and completed her fellowship at Children's Hospital in Boston, Mass.
