Thuy Lien Hoang, M.D., chose a career in medicine as a way to serve and help those in need. "I feel that medicine crosses language and cultural borders," she says. "Family medicine provided the most cross-training, and I enjoy being able to treat all patients - children, adults and the elderly."
Dr. Hoang believes it's important to serve as an advocate for her patients and their health care needs. She emphasizes patient education and equipping her patients with the tools they need to make health care choices that are right for them.
After earning her medical degree from Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara in Mexico and New York Medical College in Valhalla, N.Y., Dr. Hoang completed her intership at McAllen Medical Center in Texas. She then went on to complete her residency at Providence Milwaukie Hospital in Portland. Dr. Hoang is board certified in family medicine.
