Patient Ratings and Comments
About Our Survey

The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the CAHPS Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5-point scale in order to display results in a 5-star rating. Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety with the exception of any language that may be considered slander, libel or contain private health information, which will be removed prior to publishing the comments. These comments are the views and opinions of patients and are not endorsed by or necessarily reflect the views of Providence.

without this fine heart doctor, i would almost certainly have died by the turn of the century. My then primary recognized neither heart failure [...] nor DVT even after a chest X-ray ordered [...] I was sent for my first echo and then to Dr. Hirsch, thanks to whom I survived despite being too far gone for a heart transplant to be considered. I feel like it takes a bit of effort to get information out of Dr. Hirsch, then his communication is very fast, technical and dense. I know more than the average person about general biology, chemistry and medicine, so I pretty much understand his responses, and he's pretty good at clarifying, but it's not as easy as it could be and it all seems a bit rushed. On the other hand, I appreciate that he's very evidence-based and I tend to trust his judgment.

Had trouble getting the correct number to make an appointment for a specialist. Dr Hirsch called the specialist during my appointment. The specialist's office called ME while I was waiting for him to return. I had an appointment before he returned to the exam room. I greatly appreciate his help.

My cardiologist first saw me in the 20th century, when I was already too near death by heart failure to qualify for the heart transplant waiting list. I'm still here to thank God for his skill and dedication and that of the whole team he's part of.

Dr. Hirsch replaced my pacemaker. Well done. His op team friendly, relaxing, answered my questions, showed me a good time. The prep nurse, [...], was superb, a great nurse, a great gal. You should reward her, and Dr. Hirsch and his team.

Appointment feels needless and rushed. I feel it's unnecessary and I think the provider has to come up with something to make it feel necessary.

Dr Hirsch spoke fast and used many medical terms. Had i not done extensive research about my condition, i would have been confused.
