Biography

While in college majoring in physiology, Tracy Haley, M.D., was fascinated by the complexity of the human body, which piqued her interest in disease processes and treatments. She discovered in medical school that surgeons had the unique ability to cure a patient with surgical treatment. “I imagined how satisfying it would be to have the ability to restore a patient to full health just with an operation,” she recalls, and confidently chose her specialty in general surgery.

Dr. Haley’s philosophy of care is founded on the partnership between the patient and physician in the delivery of medical care. “I strive to educate my patients about their disease and treatment options so that they can make the most informed decisions possible about their health,” she says.

As a general surgeon, Dr. Haley focuses on procedures for breast cancer and breast disease as well as minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery. She has extensive experience in sentinel node biopsy, a procedure that allows for staging of breast cancers with decreased post-operative risks. Her focus is on the multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of breast cancer, and she works to coordinate complex care for these patients with a team approach including surgery, medical oncology, radiation oncology, and survivorship support.

Dr. Haley was the first in her family to obtain a four-year college degree, which she earned from the University of California, Davis, where she also studied medicine and completed her internship and residency programs. Having grown up in a small mountain town, Dr. Haley loves the familiarity of being a physician in Southern Oregon, where she is able to provide "big town medical care" in a "small town atmosphere." “It’s the best of both worlds,” she says, delighted to raise her two children in the community where she practices. When not working, she enjoys gardening and spending time traveling with her family.

Patient Ratings and Comments
About Our Survey

The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the CAHPS Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5-point scale in order to display results in a 5-star rating. Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety with the exception of any language that may be considered slander, libel or contain private health information, which will be removed prior to publishing the comments. These comments are the views and opinions of patients and are not endorsed by or necessarily reflect the views of Providence.

neither good or bad ... only thing is I canceled the next appointment because I do not wish to be put under general anesthesia for the surgery because the issue is not life threatening.

I have cancer that I'm trying to get rid of naturally. no chemo, radiation or surgery. I am not normal but Dr Haley is working with me anyway, monitoring my progress. so far my tumor has decreased over 60% in size. even with those numbers no one will admit that it has shrunk in size. makes it hard for someone like me who wants solid facts.

I had 3 appointments at Providence the day that included the appt. w/Dr. Haley. The three appts. were coordinated in consecutive order allowing me one trip to and from MFR on the same day without delays between appointments. Fantastic. My appt. w/Haley was a follow-up to my lumpectomy in August 2016.
