Patient Ratings and Comments
About Our Survey

The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the CAHPS Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5-point scale in order to display results in a 5-star rating. Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety with the exception of any language that may be considered slander, libel or contain private health information, which will be removed prior to publishing the comments. These comments are the views and opinions of patients and are not endorsed by or necessarily reflect the views of Providence.

I really appreciate that my doctor takes the time to really listen to me and any concerns I have. She shows concerned for my physical as well as emotional and mental health.

I have a very good PCP. She is very attentive to my chronic issues.

they always on time for every need I want on time and I feel very very heath when everything taking care would want any other hostipal to care of me

Dr. Ensminger had been a good doctor for me and it's been great to be able to see the same doctor for multiple visits. Perhaps because I haven't had a lot of need to see a physician, I was passed around a bit. It is truly helpful to feel like a physician is familiar with your health history and needs.

Love Dr. Ensminger. My husband sees her too now based on my recommendation.

Somehow or another the staff at the Interstate Clinic managed to lose the urine sample that I provided during my last visit. This seems careless at best. I'm sure that the staff is busy but this seems like it should be a basic function.

It took awhile to get OT for my neuropathy and psychiatry @ 3 mos.

Very caring, understanding and sincere. She makes me very comfortable and feel that I matter to her!

I assumed this wasnt the right doctor to see for my situation and that proved to be true. Nothing against her but I have an ongoing (years) stomach issue and being told I have IBS isnt what I need to hear. Of course I have IBS. I need more in depth care and I'll have to go elsewhere for it, which is fine.

I was given a flu shot because I was flying four days later, at the doctor's suggestion. When I got home and read the paperwork it said it wasn't effective for two weeks. Also my arm hurt REALLY bad. My arm was so sore I couldn't sleep on it for days. It bruised my arm the size of a softball.

[...] ato the front was excellent. kind and professional

i mentioned having an eating disorder on my paperwork and probably should have addressed this during our appointment. was sorta taking the doctor's lead (she seemed to be going off of my paperwork) so i didn't bring it up, although i could have. would have appreciated the doctor asking me about it.

Overall I've had very good experiences. One note of (hopefully) constructive feedback: When I asked about minor health concerns in my most recent visit, the provider was very quick to offer an array of tests or other health services most of which seemed over the top and unnecessary given my positive health and heath history. She was certainly just trying to be helpful, but I can imagine another patient in a similar situation simply agreeing to these follow up services without realizing they aren't entirely necessary and unfortunately wind up with some very hefty medical bills.

Thoughtful, knowledgeable, professional I appreciate Providence North Portland they take good care of me. Thank you.

This office has some of the best receptionists I have ever seen. Consistently finding the right mix of concern and good cheer.

always excellent

She is a very good doctor. I have extreme anxiety and that causes problems for me to be open and speak about my medical concerns.

I am greatful that a friend recommaned this dr to me a year and half ago. She has been there for me the whole time dealing with choric pain issue. I needed to find a dr that would lisyen, just not judge, Dr. Ensminger was that Dr. She been there whenever I needed help weather it was phycial or emational surport . So grateful yhat she been there for me.

Dr. Ensminger is the best provider I've had in my 63 years.

The doctor was slow because she is overworked. I don't blame her for this but I think [...] too many patient appointments per day. [...] My only hesitation about recommending Providence and this doctor to my friends/family is due to the long wait time; other than that the care is good at this clinic.

Dr. Ensminger is a great health care provider. She always treats me with care, respect & concern for my health.

Dr. Ensminger has a calm manner, which I like. She is always able to offer a logical explanation for why she is recommending or prescribing something.

I am very happy with all of the care I have received from my provider.

I feel respected and cared about at the Providence North Portland facility. Everyone I have contact with - in person or on the phone - either provides an appointment, responds with important information, or gets back to me with an answer.

Dr. Ensminger has always been very empathetic to my needs & health issues. I'm grateful that she listens so well and respects my insights regarding my health care needs. She is a great communicator, clear & concise and always makes sure I understand the conversation.

I started seeing Dr. Esminger because my previous Providence provider moved to [...]. I came to her during a time when I was having a critical health incident after just having had a PE and mild heart attack. She picked up my care seamlessly and has been absolutely wonderful. I can't say enough about her or her care team.

she always asks if I have any other concerns after dealing with the original concern.

I think my provider is pretty good.

She's very competent and thorough and addressed more than the stated reason for the visit, even though another person had said there wouldn't be time. [...] I have had other competent providers that were also a bit warmer somehow, and that seems like a small bit of room for improvement.

Good listener and suggestions for our going care

Dr. E is the best. She always takes the time to listen and is very supportive and kind. I recommend her to all of my family and friends. The staff at the clinic is also always welcoming, respectful, and kind

The PA didn't make me feel all that comfortable. She tried taking blood and wasn't able to so she sent me on my way with no instruction/literature on the place she suggested I go.

I don't feel that the patient's wellness is the focus [...]

[...] Shauna cannot figure out what is wrong with me so she has given up and I now feel like a burden coming to your clinic to be seen by her again. I get the vibe from her that she thinks I am a hypochondriac. I have been sick for almost a year now and just want to feel better - that is all. I just want some support from my doctor and I do not get that from her. I am in the process of finding a new physician.

Didn't look at x-rays. [...]

Ensminger listens carefully and is very thoughtful in the referral process. We have a clear difference of opinion in how we approach health and wellness, but I appreciate her position. I favor treating the underlying problem above the symptoms.
