Biography

Dianne  Eardley, M.D., was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa. She earned her medical degree at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg in 1984, and practiced medicine in South Africa until she moved to Portland, Oregon, in 1991. She completed her internal medicine residency at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center.

In her practice, Dr. Eardley emphasizes women’s health care. She is a strong advocate of health education and preventative care. “My role as a primary care physician is to take care of the whole patient,” she says. “Complete patient care takes into account the mental, physical and social aspects of health.”

Outside of the office, Dr. Eardley is an active sports enthusiast. Her favorite sports are soccer, swimming and squash.

Provider was unfriendly and arrogant. [...] After my visit (first visit) I received confusing calls from clinic staff who seemed unable to properly pronounce medications. I asked about a new prescription for [...] and received a scathing phone call from a lower-level staff member belittling me with a note from Dr. Eardley, accusing me of attempting to receive extra refills of the medication. [...] She has insulted me, humiliated me, and disrespected me [...]. I am currently working with my other new medical professionals to secure a new primary care doctor.

On this visit I was very disappointed. My doctor, that I have been seeing for over 10 years, didn't seem to know anything about me. Asked me questions that I felt she should have known. Maybe it was an off day.

My provider did not ask me about a recent medical experience I had in order to find out what had actually occurred, but went on the assumption that a report she received & I had never read, was accurate, when in fact it had many errors based on inaccurate & missing information. She started from the premise that the report was accurate & I was not being accurate. A simple " I got a report, tell me what happened" would have corrected the misinformation from the beginning.

Doctor had placed notes in medical file about annual lab tests, but upon arrival at lab, they had no orders, and required an OV to be seen before lab tests could be done. MD's office staff (med asst) needs to be aware that lab orders system needs lab orders not older than 90 days, and place orders accordingly, instead of making patient run around to figure out this issue. Train the med asst correctly.

This was my first appointment with Dr. Dianne Eardley and I basically came in just to get to know her. My previous doctor retired in Dec. 2014 making it necessary for me to change doctors. I liked Dianne very much and will call her whenever necessary.

Dr. Eardley referred me to a doctor. Come to find out, she gave me the wrong location and the doctor wasn't even in the network for my insurance. I telephoned about this and was told it was my responsibility to find a specialist to go to and then they would send a referral. Things I could have been told BEFORE she referred me to a specific doctor and sent me on my way.

After waiting several weeks for an appointment, I met with Dr. Eardley to set up my primary care and discuss some health concerns that I have. Dr. Eardley did not seem concerned about me and what was going on, and I'm most certain that she hasn't thought about me for a second since she walked out of the room. Instead of having a discussion, it felt like an interview and I very much felt judged. I am a relatively healthy woman in my late 20s who isn't feeling well. Instead of discussing these issues with empathy, Dr. Eardley was more concerned about me getting a cholesterol test and badgered me about exercising. I realize that everyone is entitled to an off day, but I won't be going back.

Dr. Eardley is always punctual, friendly and professional......fortunately, I don't need to see her often, mostly just once a year for physical and check on medicines, but she is easy to talk to and easy to reach through My Doctor on line for prescription help, etc.......While I don't see her often, she has always been extremely attentive and helpful. I feel fortunate to have her as my doctor, if and when I need her.
