Biography
Dr. Deshmukh is one of a few neurosurgeons in the country who offer both direct neurosurgical and minimally invasive endovascular treatment of cerebrovascular disorders. He specializes in cerebral aneurysms, vascular malformations of the brain and spinal cord, cavernous malformations, trigeminal neuralgia, stroke, carotid artery disease, intracranial arterial stenosis, microsurgical bypass techniques, skull base tumors and spinal cord tumors.

He has been the principal investigator for a number of clinical studies and served as the director of cerebrovascular and endovascular neurosurgery at George Washington University. His accomplishments include numerous awards and nearly 100 peer-reviewed publications, oral presentations, book chapters, patents and abstract presentations.

Education

Dr. Deshmukh received extensive neurosurgery training at Barrow Neurological Institute, including a residency and three fellowships with a focus in spine, endovascular and cerebrovascular/skull base surgery. He is board-certified.
