James Cook, M.D., chose his profession because he’s always had a passion for matters of the heart. In his practice, he emphasizes excellence in care through partnership with his patients and their families. “The best outcomes are possible when patients are active team members in their medical decision-making,” he says.
Dr. Cook considers his most important role to be a facilitator. “My contribution is helping to restore our patients to the optimal functional lifestyle they wish to have,” he says, promising excellence in patient care. “Every patient deserves the most competent and compassionate care we can give them. I will go the extra mile to hear and understand my patients’ problems and needs,” he says.
Having earned his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Dr. Cook went on to complete his internship and residency with Los Angeles County-University of Southern California Medical Center, Los Angeles and cardiology fellowships with The Hospital of the Good Samaritan in Los Angeles and Loma Linda University Medical Center, Loma Linda, CA.
Dr. Cook was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. His hobbies include a love for cooking and barbecuing, as well as exercising outdoors and spending time with his wife, family, and friends.
