Dr. John Butler earned his medical degree at the University of Illinois College of Medicine. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Northwestern University and his Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship at Indiana University. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and in Pulmonary Medicine. He is the founding physician and medical director of the Pulmonary Vascular Institute at The Oregon Clinic, which became the first nationally accredited pulmonary hypertension program in the Pacific Northwest by the Pulmonary Hypertension Association in September 2016. While he has significant interest in general pulmonary medicine including interstitial lung disease, he also brings a tremendous amount of expertise to the growing field of pulmonary artery hypertension.
