Biography

Being active all her life and struggling at times with her own sports injuries, Dr. Breanne Brown was inspired to become a doctor to help treat others. "I was drawn to family medicine, with an emphasis in sports medicine, because of the variety of conditions I'm able to treat," she says. "I love taking care of entire families."

Dr. Brown believes in a holistic approach when treating her patients. "My focus is on function and longevity and partnering with my patients to find the best treatment plan," she says.

After earning her medical degree from Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University, she completed a family medicine internship and residency at Providence Milwaukie Hospital and a sports medicine fellowship at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland. Dr. Brown serves as team physician for the Portland Thorns women's soccer team. 

A Pacific Northwest native, Dr. Brown enjoys being outdoors, traveling and spending time with her husband and daughters.

When I changed providers from another practitioner in the Providence system over to Dr. Brown, I was quite desperate for someone competent and caring who would - and could - help me navigate and wield my way through several very complicated health issues. She was totally, and sensitively, responsive to my needs, as well as professionally knowledgeable and engaged. Dr. Brown has been extremely supportive of me as I have struggled to gain control of my BG levels. She has made valuable suggestions and offered ideas to help me achieve those goals. Once my A1c was within range to allow for a knee replacement operation her email to me was one of congratulations. I have truly appreciated her support, advice, and encouragement over the past 6 months or so. She has also been empathetic of the discomfort caused by the knee.

I spent a lot of time ensuring my current and family medical histories were well documented. I took care to write down all of my health concerns on the form given to me by the receptionist to complete prior to my wellness check. After my short visit with Dr. Brown, I'd be very surprised to find out she even looked at them. I was able to discuss recent stress/anxiety with her but she left no opening for additional questions and concerns I had.

This is the first time that I met Dr. Brown. I was supposed to see her for my annual physical but was only able to see her for 10 minutes or so. I got to the appointment on time but not 15 minutes early. My reason to coming to Dr. Brown was that she is a DO and I wanted more hands on as well as attentive care. That didn't happen I guess because I didn't allow myself extra time, so by the time I got to the appointment, the Dr only had a few minutes with me to go over questions and paperwork. I didn't get undressed or discuss issues that I had questions about.
