Biography

Being active all her life and struggling at times with her own sports injuries, Dr. Breanne Brown was inspired to become a doctor to help treat others. "I was drawn to family medicine, with an emphasis in sports medicine, because of the variety of conditions I'm able to treat," she says. "I love taking care of entire families."

Dr. Brown believes in a holistic approach when treating her patients. "My focus is on function and longevity and partnering with my patients to find the best treatment plan," she says.

After earning her medical degree from Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University, she completed a family medicine internship and residency at Providence Milwaukie Hospital and a sports medicine fellowship at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland. Dr. Brown serves as team physician for the Portland Thorns women's soccer team.

A Pacific Northwest native, Dr. Brown enjoys being outdoors, traveling and spending time with her husband and daughters.

Patient Ratings and Comments
About Our Survey

The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the CAHPS Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5-point scale in order to display results in a 5-star rating. Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety with the exception of any language that may be considered slander, libel or contain private health information, which will be removed prior to publishing the comments. These comments are the views and opinions of patients and are not endorsed by or necessarily reflect the views of Providence.

Dr. Brown has been an excellent caregiver, always supportive, and displays a wide and in depth knowledge of many things. She identified early on my need for knee replacement, helped me better understand how to better control my diabetes, and was professional and understanding in our "end of life" General discussion. I definitely want her to be my last GP!!

Dr Brown was quickly in correcting when I called her PA by her first name which is [...], this is the way her PA had introduced herself to me. I learned of her last name through the Pharmacy. She corrected me by giving me a high pitch voice [...]! And she did not have a pleasant attitude did not say her goodbyes. I usually see her PA's which in turn have been more pleasant and ready to help. My only days off are Fridays so I really do not see Dr Brown unless I miss part of my employment to make a special day for her especially when I just had my tests done. Never asked me about the visit I had in IM at Sherwood. Was not too perceptive to my visit. She was cold. No compassion for employees of Providence which is me.

suggested I plan another visit to discuss all my health concerns, did not allow me to explain my issues. I am a working mom of 3 - I don't have time to come back in or wait another month to be seen for 3 speedster thibgs. I need whole box care - chose physical and waited 1 month to get this time in hopes of getting this... referral and next steps unclear. physical apparently not what I needed

I am very anxious around doctors but Dr Brown makes me feel comfortable (relatively, for me), is a good listening, and doesn't seem to take my anxiety personally which helps a lot.

I always appreciate that Dr. Brown is sensitive to my needs and current on the latest studies and recommendations. Also, she understands active people who want what will keep them moving and not everyone wants a pill for everything. I like that she usually isn't booked too far in advance for those of us with busy schedules, but I know that could change as her practice grows. She takes detailed notes which makes it easier for it to seem like she remembers her patients, but also makes it easier if someone else is filling in for her and needs to understand the history.

I arrived on time, not early, and a drop in patient was taking clerk time and attention. I still had another person waiting ahead. ny the time I got to clerk I was 15 minutes past appt and she said she may not be able to get me in. what the heck? I get that I should. e there early, but in a normal shuffle I should not have to worry about my seat being given away like united airlines fiasco. !!

I was establishing care so this was my first visit. I thought it would be a physical, be she hardly examined me and did not look at the skin area of concern. However she was very attentive to me when talking and going over my history. Just thought there would be a baseline exam [...]. didn't even take my shoes off!!My other issue was wanting to establish care formy 16 year old daughter with Dr Brown. That's why I had my visit first, to check her out. that's when they told me her practice was full! it's family practice for heavens sake!! I'd like for her to see both my daughter and I!! not happy at all with having my daughter see someone else.

Only issue was I had blood drawn before the appointment and they did not do all the tests so blood had to be drawn during the appointment (measuring for diabetes but I hadn't been fasting so it seemed odd to me).

Dr Brown always conducts a full review of my health. she closely follows my diabetes management. she has a very good understanding of me and she monitors the right stuff. it's my hope that she will be my last family dr. she has so much going for her to be a relatively young professional.

I was reminded by the front desk I was 10 minutes late. I was reminded by Dr. Browns assistant I was 15 minutes late (not true) and I was reminded by Dr. Brown I was 15 minutes late (not true) and that appt. would have to be cut short because I was late. I have had to wait almost every time I have had an appt. with this office. I have not charged you for my time. I better have not been charged for a full appt. When I was in the exam room I had to wait for Dr. Brown. If I was late, why was she not waiting for me in the exam room? I don't feel like any of the concerns I had were addressed. Just that she didn't have time to help me. She gave me a band aid for my finger and suggested I talk to a phychologist for my depression. She suggested I talk to [...], one of her assistants regarding ED and slow urination. Is she not qualified to help in those areas? Nothing I went in for was solved. Only referrals to other doctors. What is the purpose of going to your primary care provider??? [...]

Breanne Brown is a great physician. When choosing her to be my primary care physician, she was so professional in her interactions with me, mindful of my physical and mental health! I was impressed that she encouraged me to develop a POLST for future needs.

During the visit the MA asked me my DOB in the hall on the way to the room, then asked me my name and DOB once in the room, and then asked me to repeat my name and DOB after the provider saw me when she was delivering my AVS. it was absolutely ridiculous and made me feel like a robot. I understand needing to ask initially, but to ask me at the end made the visit and clinic feel very impersonal. [...]
