Biography

Dr. Brandenburg decided to become a physician because he enjoys the combination of human interaction, relationship and the science of medicine. He considers his most important role to be helping people by clarifying issues, pointing out which therapies have beneficial evidence and which don’t. He also attempts to keep the cost of care in mind.

“I think what I enjoy most about being a doctor is knowing people over time and honoring their trust in me,” he says.

Dr. Brandenburg is a board-certified physician with a specialty in internal medicine. He earned his medical degree from Oregon Health & Science University. He completed his internship at Kaiser Foundation Hospital in San Francisco, and his residency at Providence Portland Medical Center.

Raised in Medford, Dr. Brandenburg and his wife now reside in Jacksonville and plan to live the rest of their lives in the community. They have two grown children and enjoy horseback riding, bicycling and playing golf.

Patient Ratings and Comments
About Our Survey

The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the CAHPS Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5-point scale in order to display results in a 5-star rating. Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety with the exception of any language that may be considered slander, libel or contain private health information, which will be removed prior to publishing the comments. These comments are the views and opinions of patients and are not endorsed by or necessarily reflect the views of Providence.

Awaiting Hospital Pathology Report and was denied findings until seen in person. Waited over a week. Unacceptable to get no answers once the Report was sent to Primary Care Physician's office, simply because it is not the normal procedure for receiving critical and vital information as the patient.

I always try to update my medications with the nurse/doctor. They are never updated fully. In the event of an emergency, this failure may be critical. A critical document which had been given to the doctor twice before was not in the system. The doctor prescribed a test for for a medication when the change in medication had not be long enough to be a good test. I resent being told that my symptoms that are obviously from a medication are not from that medication. I feel that I am being dismissed and not being adequately treated.

It has been difficult to get an appointment on a needed time line. I had an acute case of flu/bronchitis in June and July. I was referred to a different doctor. The case persisted and I requested a follow-up appointment with Dr. Brandenburg. I was told the first opening was seven days. I took it, but I believe this is an excessive wait time. I have been a patient of Dr Brandenburg for 22 years. The last appointment for SHINGLES was 3 days. Since June 15, I have had to go to Valley Immediate Care twice!
