Biography

Amber Bowell believes her most important role as a physician assistant is to be an educator and mentor to all her patients. "I enjoy the interaction with people and treasure the relationships that are formed," she says. "I find joy in helping my patients achieve their health goals."

After earning her physician assistant degree from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Conn., she completed medical rotations in dermatology and infectious disease. Amber joins Providence from Middlesex Hospital in Durham, Conn., where she worked in primary care.

Amber was born in Nebraska and was raised on a farm until her family moved to Colorado when she was 12. She later moved to Connecticut for work where she volunteered her time providing medical care to migrant farm workers.

In her free time, Amber enjoys running, yoga and being outdoors. She has a passion for travel, speaks Spanish and enjoys traveling the world with her husband.

The only issue was obtaining a lab test ordered by the medical provider in questionaire. Waited in lab for 30 minutes without anyone in the (full to the point of standing room only) waiting room being served. Left for service at another time.

Staff not listening or it might be the operator. Called in as I was instructed by Dr. Amber bowers to talk with her privately. Got run around and this person answered questions but did not satisfy my concerns and never did put me through to dr. I'm still upset at this and was going to call again today to see if I can talk with dr.

Have not needed a referral for specialty care. Since I live in Canby and most of my associations are in this area, Bridgeport is a distance. We have a Providence Clinic in Canby, but I needed to come in for a "get acquainted" visit prior to my annual appt. So I stayed with Bridgeport.

Amber listened to my concerns and helped me understand what a report from my Oncologist said. I was very confused at that time. She also treated me for pre-cancer skin tags. This was a follow up appointment for the skin tag problem.
