About Our Survey

The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the CAHPS Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5-point scale in order to display results in a 5-star rating. Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety with the exception of any language that may be considered slander, libel or contain private health information, which will be removed prior to publishing the comments. These comments are the views and opinions of patients and are not endorsed by or necessarily reflect the views of Providence.

I saw two providers during this visit; Dr. Anderson and a medical student who I believe was named [...]. [...] came in first, and treated me with kindness, respect, and patience. He explained things to me in a way that made it clear he understood my intelligence and met me on my level. When Anderson came in, he spoke to me as though I were an uneducated child. He over-explained the basics of conditions I have had for years and comprehend well. His line of questions implied I was a hypochondriac, rather that someone who is in tune with their body, noticing significant changes from their baseline. Anderson's manner of speaking to me heightened my anxiety and stress until I was so frustrated and overwhelmed that all I could do was shut my eyes and break down in tears. He then listened to my heart and lungs, despite that I was crying hysterically and having extreme difficulty complying with his requests. I don't remember what was said, but I was left alone in the room sobbing for some time until [...] came back in, alone, to explain the next step. I left the clinic in a great deal more distress than when I entered, and I didn't fully recover until the next day. This was a horrible experience for me, and I do not wish to be treated by Anderson again. I would rather establish trust with a new provider than rebuild trust that has been broken. I, however, would be completely comfortable working with [...] again.

when I called to schedule the appts, I was asked if I felt I needed to be seen this week, I said yes, I was then offered an appts that was the following week on a Friday. I was willing to see any provider, I just needed to be seen asap which the PRR, didn't care or care to try to understand. but the reason for my appts, she should have been more in tune with the urgency.
