Girls should play dirty - according to research

Providence Wee Care happens to agree – and have planter boxes and a “dirt” box for boys and girls to play in, as well as traditional outdoor play equipment.

Providence physician, Aoi Mizushima, M.D., discussed how the health of boys and girls has changed since the 1950s – and one of the most significant factors is that children spend most of their time indoors now, as opposed to outdoors 50 years ago. In addition, our culture encourages girls “to keep clean.” Dr. Mizushima concluded dirt is good, just wash your hands before eating dinner! View now.
