Assessing Cognitive Functioning for the Speech-Language Pathologist
This course will present information on cognitive systems and processes, their neurological underpinnings, and approaches to cognitive assessment. We will embrace the World Health Organization ICF model as a way to conceptualize assessment, evaluating clients at the processing (impairment), functional activity and social participation levels.
Target audience: Speech-language pathologists, speech-language pathology assistants, inpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing facilities or outpatient SLP practices

Evidence for Intervention: Nerve and Tendon Injuries of the Upper Extremity
This course is designed to review the rehabilitation of patients with common nerve and tendon injuries with focus on nerve compression; nerve repair and grafting; and flexor and extensor tendon injuries. Relevant anatomy and kinesiology will be discussed as well as common diagnostic tests and their significance for therapeutic rehabilitation.

Assessment and Treatment of Vision Impairments That Complicate Vestibular Disorders in Adults With Acquired Brain Injury
This course will address vision impairments that may occur concurrently in adults with vestibular disorders from acquired brain injury and that may complicate evaluation and treatment of the disorder. Specifically, the course will focus on how deficits in acuity, visual field, oculomotor control, and visual attention influence motor and postural control. The course will provide a practical approach to evaluation, treatment and documentation of visual impairment.
Target audience: Occupational and physical therapists, occupational therapy assistants and physical therapy assistants who treat patients with vision impairments that complicate vestibular disorders
