Combining extensive clinical expertise with the latest technology enables our patients receive excellent care delivered with compassion.
As we enjoy longer, more active lives, a lifetime of activity takes its toll and sometimes leads to problems with joints, muscles and nerves. Providence Orthopedic Institute is dedicated to keeping people healthy and active. Education is integral to our success. By offering programs that teach proper strength building, flexibility, conditioning, endurance and training techniques, we can help minimize the risk of injury.
Joint replacement and revisions
Total joint replacement, or arthroplasty, represents a significant advance in the treatment of painful and disabling joint problems.Total joint replacement can be performed on many of the joints in the body including the hip, knee, ankle, foot, shoulder, elbow and wrist. Hip and knee total joint replacements are by far the most common. The ultimate goal is ensuring pain-free function of the joint to improve the patient's quality of life.
Foot and ankle injury care
The design of the bones, muscles and joints of the foot and ankle is a miracle of complex interaction. Each foot contains 26 bones and a multitude of joints and muscles that work together to provide mobility and stability. This intricate design allows for the up-and-down motion used when walking or climbing stairs, as well as the side-to-side movements required for navigating uneven surfaces and switching directions.
Given that the average person takes about 10,000 steps each day, foot and/or ankle pain can often be debilitating. Our specialists are trained to correct foot and ankle problems and pain, and consider every appropriate treatment option available to provide you with the best choice.
Hand surgery and upper-extremity injury care
Evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of the hand and upper extremity requires a special set of skills provided by our care team of physicians and clincial experts. Our team works together to ensure that your recovery process is as effective and efficient as possible.
Simple daily activities such as writing, driving, lifting and waving are all made possible because of the versatility and flexibility of the upper extremity.
This complex area includes the joints, bones and muscles of the fingers, hand, wrist, arm, elbow and shoulder. Intricate design coupled with daily use make this area of the body susceptible to injury.
Fracture and trauma care
Providence Orthopedic Institute offers access to highly trained orthopedic specialists who work as a team to repair fracture and trauma injuries. Our advanced techniques and state-of-the-art equipment ensure that you receive the best possible care.
Our coordinated evaluation and treatment protocols are designed to provide care as quickly as possible. Our physicians, nurses and other care team members have built an integrated care network that is known for providing outstanding care and service.
Taking care of an injured athlete means more than applying a sophisticated brace. It requires a skilled, hands-on evaluation and appropriate diagnostic testing to determine the best overall plan of care. While our sports medicine surgeons have particular skill in the operating room, whenever possible we consider nonsurgical options. However, if a surgical procedure becomes the appropriate choice, our highly skilled physicians and staff provide excellent surgical care.
Dedicated to keeping our athletic community healthy and active, we care for and treat professionals whose physical performance is their livelihood; students involved in competitive school and club sports; and avid amateurs who participate for fun and fitness.
In addition to treating sports-related injuries, our team also educates area athletes, coaches and parents about injury prevention and recognition. Through this partnership, we help individuals better understand how to care for their bodies before, during and after participating in athletics.
